Hello Everybody,
I don't have my own horse but love to hire different ones from riding stables when I can. It is an especially great way to see the countryside when on holiday.
I have been riding since a teenager and now my daughter rides too so we go together. It is a great way to spend a few hours - my husband usually drives us to the stables and then we have a pub lunch on the way home.
The best ride I ever had was in the pouring rain when only my sister and I turned up so we went with the leader checking the trails and got soaked. It felt the most like actual riding rather than following the tail of the horse in front that I have ever done.
I would love to go over a cross country jump course again. They seem so strict now. I did a course once as a teenager and had never even jumped a fence before - the horse did it all for me but it was brilliant.
