First Day of Equine Classes

Today was a great day! My first class of the day was Light Horse Management. In that class we are going to be learning about safety around the horse, differences in horses, breeds, management, etc. I'm so excited about it..and I'm loving my books too. There is also a lab that goes with this class and it takes place in the lower barn and there will be hands on experience with the horses, placing halters and stuff on them...That was my second class of the day..We learned all the rules about being around the horses, how to do certain things at that barn and my teacher for the barn said that this was our barn and we were more than welcomed to come down and practice we what learned in the lab. I'm so excited and on top of that my horse is finally coming up on Thursday and I can start riding again. My third class of the day was english but I didn't go because I'm dropping that class because I took that english class and the 2nd part of it in my other school and it should have transferred...It's pretty much a filler class which I can get rid of..So I'm so returning my english book tomorrow. My 2 horse book are called A Guide to Selection, Care and Enjoyment : Horses and my other book is called Equine Safety..We were told to read 4 chapters in the Equine Safety before Wednesday's class and I've read 2 so far...One chapter pretty much dealt with the basic ground work stuff..they talked about the horse zones that you should be considerate of when handling the horse..and always work with another horse if the horse is rambunctious..The 2nd chapter goes into talking about the different basic restraints...some of the restraints are pretty scary looking I'm not gonna lie..lol. Then we have lecture notes on feral horses vs. stable horses and I can't wait to read that..

Tomorrow should be an even more exciting day..I have bio (animal anatomy and physiology) Tackless Training, Equine Science Techniques 1, Intro to Equine Training...I will have more on that tomorrow.

That sounds great! It sounds like you are really enjoying it. I would change your font to black if you can because some of the words are hard to read against the light colors. Remember to tell some of the people in your classes about this site. Maybe they would like to connect with other horsey people.
