Actually, a friend originally set it up. I had no clue about online sites etc. I have since figured it out and she has left me on my own with it. However, she will still not let me touch the store aside from changing the merchandise because I can royally goof it up.
I like the store. It has done well and I can get whatever anyone wants pretty much. It is a challenge to try to connect everything with horses lol
Hi Gretta,
I actually posted the picture on this site. It is the one that says JC Madison. Weather here is awful. Cold and rainy. Yuch! Our next show is the Midwest Charity Horse show which I am looking forward to.
We have a lesson program at our barn and actually one of the babies we bred is part of it. He is a 4 year old, but a real babysitter. A lot of kids take him to the academy shows.
Hi,
I'll have to look up the pic for sure. Just wanted to get back with you before I get too sleepy. It was a busy day as usual and we have a possibly new alternate farrier stopping by tomorrow morning. Our regular guy comes from Danville Kentucky which is 3 hours away. i need to find someone "safe" who can do trims and "band-aids".
We don't breed and I have a tendency to rescue, so our numbers climb...Of course I do a lot of lessons and most of my "rescues" fit into the school horse group. I make Rich nuts...taking in more mouths to feed.

His registered name is M&N's Buck Almighty. He is obviously the poster boy for this site. Almost all of my blogs are about him. You can see a picture of him from today at: http://www.rickosteen.com/photocart/index.php?do=photocart&viewImage=135921 I think I will order it to advertise for Midwest. His mother is a gaited mare we own Lady Skybuck and he is by First NIte Out. We've been breeding for over 20 years and he is the only baby that I have absolutely wanted since the day he was born.
If the babies don't work for us, we just find a very good home for them. We give them away to someone who is either looking for a companion horse or a back yard horse.
I never thought of it that way, but it is very true. I've known quite a few who have done that. It is sad. I'm very grateful for my trainer. She is the first to admit if she can't get along with one and she also lets the horses be themselves. She doesn't believe in changing the horse for the rider. She believes we have to learn to ride the horse the way he/she is.
My boy was reserve champion today. He is a homebred and it is only our second show together. He is 4. Terri Anne and her assistants have done a really nice job with him and he is a very happy horse :)
Yes, I would say this is the first time in a while I have had fun. But, we bred this horse and he has such a wonderful disposition. He loves to show and thinks that the whole crowd is cheering for him. I love the babies. I know what they've been through and where they came from. Have had many more problems with the bought ones.
I know what you mean. To me, the be all and end all is not L'ville. I enjoy my horses and think they should be fun. Once you start losing the great parts of your life due to the horses, they are not fun anymore if that makes sense. This has to be fun or it's not worth it :)
